MAGLIOLI Giovanni Andrea

(active in Rome from 1580 to 1610)

Refined Italian engraver of whom unfortunately we do not have any precise biographical information.
It is known that he was active in Rome and some series, attributed to him, depicts angels, cherubs, and fantastig marine animals of which Nagler emphasizes quality.
It is worth mentioning the existence of two series of prints by the German engraver Adam Fuchs (Nuremberg 1540-1606), which replicate the same subjects of Maglioli’s engravings.
He also performed reproduction works by subjects derived from Rubens and Titian.
